DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/06 13:44 Corn, Soybean Prices Rebuff Early Strength; Wheat Closes Mixed With no real news to drive the markets Wednesday, strength in corn and soybean futures could not hold. It is very likely long funds were taking profits ahead of Friday's April WASDE report. Crude oil reversed early strength and plunged on news of higher-than-expected stocks. The Russia-Ukraine conflict continues with no end in sight. The Federal Reserve will release their minutes on Wednesday as they prepare to reduce their balance sheet. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed down 3 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was down 1 3/4 cents. May soybeans closed down 11 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 11 3/4 cents. July KC wheat closed up 1 3/4 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 7 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 5 3/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.327 at 99.755. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 304.67 points at 34,336.51. June gold is down $7.30 at $1,920.20, May silver is down $0.17 at $24.36 and May copper is down $0.0835 at $4.7115. May crude oil is down $5.79 at $96.17, May heating oil is down $0.1380, May RBOB is down $0.1251 and May natural gas is up $0.012.
