DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/07 13:47 Soybeans, Bean Oil Lead Market Prices Higher in Quiet Trade In low volume and quiet trade ahead of the April WASDE report on Friday, soybeans and bean oil finished with solid gains after trading even higher earlier Thursday. Nearby contracts of wheat and corn were under modest pressure as index funds begin their roll to deferred months. CONAB's reduction in Brazil soy production to 4.6 mmt below WASDE was the likely catalyst for soy strength. With no specific news, wheat futures faded further toward the close. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 1 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 4 1/4 cents. May soybeans closed up 26 cents and November soybeans were up 22 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed down 12 3/4 cents, May Chicago wheat was down 18 1/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 8 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.125 at 99.740. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 11.99 points at 34,508.50. June gold is up $14.00 at $1,937.10, May silver is up $0.27 at $24.73 and May copper is down $0.0250 at $4.7130. May crude oil is down $0.10 at $96.13, May heating oil is down $0.0776, May RBOB is down $0.0066 and May natural gas is up $0.321.
