DTN Early Word Grains 04/08 05:54 Corn, Wheat Prices Lower Early With WASDE in View May corn was down 4 1/4 cents, May soybeans were up 1 3/4 cents and May KC wheat was down 3 cents Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: May corn was down 4 1/4 cents, May soybeans were up 1 3/4 cents and May KC wheat was down 3 cents CME Globex Recap: Early Friday, Dow Jones futures are trading modestly higher, encouraged by higher trading in Europe. Investors continued to be concerned by the anticipation of higher interest rates ahead and a general consensus Russian forces are preparing for another attack on the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine. Crude oil prices have been contained by talk of releases from oil reserves this week but are trading higher early Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 87.06 at 34,583.57 and the S&P 500 up 19.06 at 4,500.21 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.65%, its highest in three years. Early Friday, June Dow Jones futures are trading up 78 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.36% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.47%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 1.11%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.23% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.19%. The June euro is down $0.0006 at $1.0901. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.09 at 99.85. The June 30-year T-bond is down 5/32nds, while June gold is down $1.60 at $1,936.20 and May crude oil is up $1.00 at $97.03. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was down 0.7%, May soybeans were up 1.0%, May soybean meal was up 1.2% and May soybean oil was up 0.8%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.9%.
