DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/14 13:49 Wheat Futures Prices Weaken; Bull Spreads Signal Strong Demand in Corn, Soy In somewhat quiet, pre-Easter holiday trade, wheat weakened, while corn and beans were mixed, with spot May gaining on new-crop futures in both soybeans and corn. Market factors continue to be U.S. and South American weather and the ongoing Ukraine war. A warm-up after the holiday could allow seeding to accelerate. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: May corn closed up 6 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was down 1/2 cent. May soybeans closed up 6 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 4 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed down 20 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 16 3/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 13 1/2 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.452 at 100.365. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 78.89 points at 34,643.48. June gold is down $8.90 at $1,975.80, May silver is down $0.27 at $25.77 and May copper is up $0.0065 at $4.7185. May crude oil is up $2.79 at $107.04, May heating oil is up $0.1724, May RBOB is up $0.0916 and May natural gas is up $0.274.
