DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/19 13:49 Corn, Wheat Prices Begin Brief Correction; Soybeans Mixed Not a whole lot has changed in the big picture, with the Russia-Ukraine war and U.S. and South American weather issues driving markets. However, on Tuesday, following new contract highs again in corn and soy oil, prices retreated in a bout of profit-taking. No doubt the plunging crude oil market influenced energy-related commodities corn and bean oil, but oil recovered late to finish mildly higher. July soybeans closed down 1 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 1/2 cent. July KC wheat closed down 12 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 19 3/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 5 1/2 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.229 at 100.995. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 376.95 points at 34,788.64. June gold is down $30.60 at $1,955.80, May silver is down $0.82 at $25.34 and May copper is down $0.0940 at $4.7080. May crude oil is down $5.71 at $102.50, May heating oil is down $0.0414, June RBOB is down $0.1299 and May natural gas is down $0.645.
