DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/20 13:41 Soy Complex Prices Firm on Demand, Tight Supply; Wheat Falls Again As the U.S. soybean balance sheet continues to tighten on a series of old- and new-crop purchases from China and unknown destinations, more rumors of China buying sent soybean, meal and oil futures to significant gains. Old-crop corn futures went along for the ride, while wheat markets sold off on the prospect for some much-needed Plains moisture. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 10 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 1 1/2 cents. July soybeans closed up 25 1/4 cents and November soybeans were up 9 cents. July KC wheat closed down 6 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 11 1/2 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.639 at 100.325. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 306.41 points at 35,217.61. June gold is down $4.10 at $1,954.90, May silver is down $0.14 at $25.25 and May copper is down $0.0600 at $4.6580. June crude oil is down $0.16 at $101.89, May heating oil is up $0.1186, June RBOB is up $0.0202 and May natural gas is down $0.200.
