DTN Early Word Grains 04/21 05:51 Grain Prices Mostly Lower Early Thursday July corn was down 3 1/4 cents, July soybeans were down 2 cents and July KC wheat was down 5 1/2 cents Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: July corn was down 3 1/4 cents, July soybeans were down 2 cents and July KC wheat was down 5 1/2 cents CME Globex Recap: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are trading higher after a positive earnings report from Tesla and more earnings reports due out Thursday. According to the Wall Street Journal, Federal Chairman Jerome Powell is set to speak at an event, hosted by the International Monetary Fund at noon CDT and traders will tune into his latest comments. The U.S. Labor Department's report on weekly jobless claims is due out at 7:30 a.m. CDT. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 249.59 at 35,160.79 and the S&P 500 down 2.76 at 4,459.45 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.84%, down from its highest in three years. Early Thursday, June Dow Jones futures are trading up 207 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.23% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 2.26%. European markets are mostly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.04%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.13% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.38%. The June euro is up $0.0080 at $1.0945. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.49 at 99.93. The June 30-year T-bond is down 3/8nds, while June gold is down $8.20 at $1,947.40 and June crude oil is up $0.92 at $103.11. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was up 0.5%, May soybeans were up 0.9%, September soybean meal was up 1.1% and September soybean oil was up 0.2%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.2%.
