DTN Closing Grain Comments 04/28 13:46 Soybeans, Meal Take a Hit; Bean Oil Scores a New Contract High It was a choppy day at the CME with corn again scoring a new contract high before trading lower and all three wheat markets showing early strength before fading. Soybeans and meal sold off sharply, led by spot May soybeans ahead of first notice day on Friday, while bean oil shook off early weakness to again set a new high. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 1 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 2 1/4 cents. July soybeans closed down 8 cents and November soybeans were down 3 3/4 cents. July KC wheat closed down 12 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 5 1/2 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 3 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.662 at 103.625. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 622.01 points at 33,923.94. June gold is up $3.90 at $1,892.60, May silver is down $0.29 at $23.17 and July copper is down $0.0430 at $4.4320. June crude oil is up $2.85 at $104.87, June heating oil is up $0.0727, June RBOB is up $0.0612 and June natural gas is down $0.433.
