DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/06 15:13 Wheat Higher, But KC Sags Late; Corn, Beans Retreat as Weather Improves Wheat markets rejected early Friday weakness to rise again, with Minneapolis scoring another new contract high. However, KC closed lower and Minneapolis September closed up just 1/4 cent. Another bullish factor has begun to creep into the wheat market with a hot and dry spell ahead for E.U. wheat. Corn and soy weakened modestly on a warmer and drier forecast next week for the central Corn Belt. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 12 3/4 cents per bushel and December corn was down 17 3/4 cents. July soybeans closed down 25 cents and November soybeans were down 21 cents. July KC wheat closed down 6 1/2 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 2 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 1 cent. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.177 at 103.625. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 291.86 points at 32,706.11. June gold is up $7.90 at $1,883.60, July silver is down $0.08 at $22.36 and July copper is down $0.0470 at $4.2445. June crude oil is up $1.47 at $109.73, June heating oil is down $0.0819, June RBOB is up $0.1108 and June natural gas is down $0.710.
