DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/11 13:59 Minneapolis Wheat Soars to New High; Corn and Soy Sharply Higher It was a risk-on day in the ag commodities ahead of the May WASDE report on Thursday. Gains were led by Minneapolis new crop September scoring a new high along with KC deferred wheat contracts. Corn and soy futures surged, with the soy complex following bean oil as gains were fueled by a sharp rise in crude oil. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 13 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was up 16 3/4 cents. July soybeans closed up 14 1/2 cents and November soybeans were up 17 1/2 cents. July KC wheat closed up 25 1/2 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 20 1/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 42 1/2 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.068 at 103.875. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 112.67 points at 32,048.07. June gold is up $11.90 at $1,852.90, July silver is up $0.18 at $21.61 and July copper is up $0.0690 at $4.2235. June crude oil is up $5.79 at $105.55, June heating oil is up $0.0409, June RBOB is up $0.1631 and June natural gas is up $0.248.
