CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are off to a higher start, encouraged by higher trading in Europe and quotes for lower yields on Treasury securities ahead of Wednesday's consumer price index for April, due out at 7:30 a.m. CDT. Earlier Wednesday, RTTNews.com reported consumer prices in China were up 2.1% in April from a year ago. Crude oil is trading higher early as the debate continues in Europe over the topic of banning Russian oil. At 9:30 a.m. CDT, the U.S. Energy Department will report on ethanol production and energy inventories. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 84.96 at 32,160.74 and the S&P 500 up 9.81 at 4,001.05 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.99%, down from the highest level in three and a half years. Early Wednesday, June Dow Jones futures are trading up 267 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.18% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.75%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.97%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.91% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 2.02%. The June euro is up $0.0038 at $1.0584. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.47 at 103.48. The June 30-year T-bond is up 28/32nds, while June gold is up $9.30 at $1,850.30 and June crude oil is up $3.23 at $102.99. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was unchanged, July soybeans were up 0.4%, September soybean meal was up 0.7% and September soybean oil was up 0.2%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.6%.
