DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/12 14:27 USDA's New-Crop Estimates Send US Wheat Prices Sharply Higher Lower-than-expected estimates of U.S. and world ending stocks Thursday sent U.S. wheat prices sharply higher. July contracts of corn and soybeans posted small gains despite a higher-than-expected estimate of world corn stocks. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 3 cents and December corn was up 17 1/4 cents. July soybeans closed up 7 cents and November soybeans were up 8 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed up 69 1/2 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 65 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was up its 60-cent daily limit. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 1.03 at 104.90. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 593.29 points at 31,240.82. June gold is down $32.60 at $1,821.10, May silver is down $0.94 at $20.64 and May copper is down $0.1330. June crude oil is up $0.75 at $106.46, June heating oil is down $0.0325, June RBOB gasoline is up $0.1179 and June natural gas is up $0.054.
