DTN Closing Grain Comments 06/02 13:50 Soybeans Surge on New Demand; Wheat Stops the Bearish Pain Soybean and product futures, which have been remarkably strong despite recent wheat and corn meltdowns, moved higher again Thursday, buoyed by new soy export sales. Wheat, after the recent beatdown, has recovered somewhat Thursday as no progress has been made on re-opening safe shipping lanes for Ukraine grains. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 1 cent per bushel and December corn was up 2 3/4 cents. July soybeans closed up 39 cents and November soybeans were up 26 1/2 cents. July KC wheat closed up 15 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 17 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 5 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.764 at 101.765. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 258.29 points at 33,071.52. August gold is up $23.10 at $1,871.80, July silver is up $0.39 at $22.31 and July copper is up $0.2180 at $4.5465. July crude oil is up $1.41 at $116.67, July heating oil is up $0.0571, July RBOB is up $0.1145 and July natural gas is down $0.181.
