DTN Closing Grain Comments 06/08 13:51 Soybeans Jump to New Contract Highs, but Still Close Under $17.50 Soybeans and the soy complex took over bullish leadership of the grain and soy markets early on Wednesday, surging to new contract highs in spot July soy above $17.50, with November also scoring a new high before fading back. Corn was along for the ride on some threatening long-term forecasts for the Corn Belt. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 7 1/2 cents per bushel and December corn was up 3 3/4 cents. July soybeans closed up 11 3/4 cents and November soybeans were up 18 1/4 cents. July KC wheat closed up 5 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 3 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was up 5 1/2 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.210 at 102.535. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 314.60 points at 32,865.54. August gold is up $4.20 at $1,856.30, July silver is down $0.11 at $22.07 and July copper is up $0.0035 at $4.4390. July crude oil is up $2.58 at $121.99, July heating oil is down $0.0123, July RBOB is up $0.0575 and July natural gas is down $0.666.
