DTN Closing Grain Comments 06/13 14:00 Commodity, Grain Prices Nearly All Red Monday Spillover concerns from Friday's report of an 8.6% gain in May consumer prices plus the anticipation of a half-percent rate hike Wednesday, sent U.S. stock prices lower Monday and a wave of widespread selling throughout commodity prices. U.S. wheat prices survived the day, roughly unchanged, while July soybean meal posted the largest percentage loss among grain-related contracts, ending down $14.00. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 4 cents and December corn was up 1 cent. July soybeans closed down 38 cents and November soybeans were down 34 1/2 cents. July KC wheat closed down 3/4 cent, July Chicago wheat was up 1/4 cent and September Minneapolis wheat was up 1/2 cent. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.85 at 104.87. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 710.29 points at 30,682.50. August gold is down $46.80 at $1,828.70, July silver is down $0.71 at $21.22 and July copper is down $0.0870. July crude oil is up $0.12 at $120.79, July heating oil is down $0.0836, July RBOB gasoline is down $0.1368 and July natural gas is down $0.242.
