DTN Early Word Grains 06/13 05:51 Grains Mixed as Equities, Energy Grab Attention July corn is down 1 1/2 cents per bushel, July soybeans are down 20 3/4 cents, and July KC wheat is up 6 1/4 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst PRE-6 a.m. GLOBEX PRICES: July corn is down 1 1/2 cents per bushel, July soybeans are down 20 3/4 cents, and July KC wheat is up 6 1/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Heavy selling in global equity markets overnight with U.S. futures pointing toward another down day domestically. The higher than expected inflation print Friday has investors rattled the Federal Reserve will have to be even more aggressive with their monetary policy in hopes of bringing down prices. The real fear is the Fed will be raising interest rates into a recession, or that the Fed may need to spark a recession just to get a handle on price increases. Energy market are lower overnight with crude off nearly $3.00 per barrel at one point. The U.S. Dollar Index is higher and looks poised to retest May highs this week. Metals are all weaker with copper and silver down over 2.0%. Grain markets are mixed with wheat up but all other contracts lower as the macro headwind weighs to start the week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 880.00 at 31,392.79 and the S&P 500 down 116.96 at 4,017.82 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.156%. Early Monday, the June DJIA futures are down 593 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 836.85 (-3.01%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 29.28 points (-0.89%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 127.22 points (-1.74%), Germany's DAX down 309.3 points (-2.25%) and France's CAC 40 down 137.76 points (-2.23%). The June Euro is down 0.006 at 1.050 and the September U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.582 at 104.595. The September 30-Year T-Bond is down 28/32nds, while August gold is down $18.90 at $1,856.60 and July crude oil is down $1.89 at $118.78. Corn on China's Dalian Exchange was up 0.59% while soybeans were down 1.27% and soybean meal was down 0.26%.
