CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading a little higher, in line with stocks in Europe and Japan after China reported slight annual growth of 0.4% in the second quarter. Later Friday morning, the U.S. Commerce department will report on June retail sales and the Fed will report on U.S. industrial production. Earnings reports are due out for some large financial firms, like U.S. Bancorp and Wells Fargo, reported the Wall Street Journal. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 142.62 at 30,630.17 and the S&P 500 down 11.40 at 3,790.38 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.96%, down from the highest level in three and a half years. Early Friday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 85 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.54% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.64%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.81%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.84% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.85%. The Sep euro is up $0.0008 at $1.0085. The Sep U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.09 at 108.32. The Sep 30-year T-bond is up 9/32nds, while August gold is down $4.10 at $1,701.70 and August crude oil is up $0.30 at $96.08. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.3%, September soybeans were up 0.8%, September soybean meal was up 0.0% and September soybean oil was up 1.7%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.4%.
