DTN Early Word Grains 07/18 09:08 Crop Prices Higher Early Monday, Supported by Green Commodity Board, Dry Forecast December corn was up 7 1/4 cents, November soybeans were up 21 and September KC wheat was up 6 1/2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading higher, in line with stocks in Europe and Asia. According to the Wall Street Journal, there are several major earnings reports due this week, including Bank of America and IBM on Monday. In spite of ongoing concerns about another rate hike ahead on July 27, commodity prices are starting mostly higher Monday with the U.S. dollar down roughly a half-point. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 658.09 at 31,288.26 and the S&P 500 up 72.78 at 3,863.16 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.93%, down from the highest level in three and a half years. Early Monday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 291 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index closed Monday and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.55%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 1.29%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.44% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.44%. The September euro is up $0.0047 at $1.0174. The September U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.50 at 107.42. The September 30-year T-bond is down 10/32nds, while August gold is up $13.60 at $1,717.20 and August crude oil is up $1.81 at $99.40. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.7%, September soybeans were up 1.2%, September soybean meal was up 0.1% and September soybean oil was up 2.4%. September Malaysian palm oil is trading up 8.9%.
