DTN Closing Grain Comments 07/20 13:56 Anticipation of Rain Keeps Corn, Soybeans Lower December corn closed down 5 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 26 cents, pressured by the anticipation of rain on the way this weekend and next week. Wheat prices tried to trade higher early Wednesday but finished mixed with milder temperatures pressuring U.S. spring wheat prices and giving crops relief from the recent stretch of summer heat. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed down 4 1/2 cents and December corn was down 5 1/4 cents. August soybeans closed down 28 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 26 cents. September KC wheat closed up 1 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat was up 7 1/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was down 5 1/2 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.50 at 107.05. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 60.79 points at 31,766.26. August gold is down $11.20 at $1,699.50, September silver is down $0.08 at $18.63 and September copper is up $0.0180. September crude oil is down $1.07 at $99.67, September heating oil is down $0.0170, September RBOB gasoline is down $0.0291 and September natural gas is up $0.660.
