DTN Early Word Grains 07/20 05:49 Wheat Prices Perk Up Early Wednesday as Row Crops Sag December corn was down 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were down 10 cents and September KC wheat was up 18 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst PRE-6 a.m. GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were down 10 cents and September KC wheat was up 18 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading slightly higher with mixed encouragement from Tuesday's earnings reports. According to the Wall Street Journal, Tesla and United Airlines are two companies that will get attention Wednesday. At 9:30 a.m. CDT, the U.S. Energy Department will release its weekly report on energy inventories, including ethanol production, which was seen at 1.005 million barrels per day last week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 754.44 at 31,827.05 and the S&P 500 up 105.84 at 3,936.69 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.02%, down from the highest level in three and a half years. Early Wednesday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 9 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 2.67% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.77%. European markets are a little higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.26%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.25% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.33%. The September euro is up $0.0006 at $1.0283. The September U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.07 at 106.49. The September 30-year T-bond is up 11/32nds, while August gold is down $3.60 at $1,707.10 and September crude oil is down $1.19 at $99.56. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 1.7%, September soybeans were down 2.4%, September soybean meal was down 3.3% and September soybean oil was down 0.6%. September Malaysian palm oil is trading up 2.5%.
