DTN Early Word Grains 07/25 06:24 Wheat Prices Start Higher After Attack Threatens Ukrainian Exports December corn was up 9 cents, November soybeans were up 8 1/2 cents and September KC wheat was up 26 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are starting higher as a busy time for earnings reports is underway. According to CNBC.com, 21% of S&P 500 companies reported earnings as of Friday and 70% of them exceeded analysts' expectations. The week ahead included earnings reports from Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Apple and Microsoft. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve is expected to increase the federal funds rate target by 0.75% to 2.25% to 2.50%. Commodities are mostly higher early Monday after Russia attacked the port of Odesa over the weekend. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 137.61 at 31,899.29 and the S&P 500 down 37.32 at 3,961.63 as the 10-Year Treasury yield fell to 2.78%, down from the highest level in three and a half years. Early Monday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 118 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.77% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.60%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.10%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.26% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.03%. The September euro is up $0.0029 at $1.0264. The September U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.28 at 106.34. The September 30-year T-bond is down 13/32nds, while August gold is down $0.90 at $1,726.50 and September crude oil is down $0.12 at $94.58. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was up 0.1%, September soybeans were up 1.1%, September soybean meal was up 0.8% and September soybean oil was up 0.3%. September Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.5%.
