DTN Closing Grain Comments 07/28 13:51 Dry Forecast Sends Grains Higher as US Confirms Negative Quarter Of GDP New-crop contracts of corn, soybeans and all three U.S. wheats finished higher Thursday, influenced by a hot and dry forecast for next week and led by a 4.06-cent rebound in December soybean oil. U.S. stocks are also trading higher, even after the Commerce Department reported a slight contraction of 0.2% in second quarter GDP. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed up 14 3/4 cents and December corn was up 16 cents. August soybeans closed up 30 1/2 cents and November soybeans were up 30 1/2 cents. September KC wheat closed up 28 cents, September Chicago wheat was up 26 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was up 18 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.02 at 106.32. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 354.57 points at 32,552.16. August gold is up $30.10 at $1,749.20, September silver is up $1.30 at $19.90 and September copper is up $0.0450. September crude oil is down $0.76 at $96.50, September heating oil is down $0.0410, September RBOB gasoline is down $0.0737 and September natural gas is down $0.387.
