DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/01 14:06 Volatile Soybean Prices Sink on Monday After posting big gains last week, November soybeans closed down 62 1/2 cents and December corn was down 10 1/4 cents Monday with rain in this week's forecast for the Eastern Corn Belt and news a shipment of corn left Ukraine's port of Odesa. Manufacturing indices from around the world also showed slower activity almost everywhere, contributing to Monday's lower crude oil prices. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed down 9 1/4 cents and December corn was down 10 1/4 cents. August soybeans closed down 42 3/4 cents and November soybeans were down 62 1/2 cents. September KC wheat closed down 8 cents, September Chicago wheat was down 7 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was down 8 1/2 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.41 at 105.37. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 92.36 points at 32,752.77. August gold is up $2.90 at $1,784.70, September silver is up $0.05 at $20.25 and September copper is down $0.0525. September crude oil is down $4.66 at $93.96, September heating oil is down $0.1190, September RBOB gasoline is down $0.1214 and September natural gas is down $0.005.
