DTN Early Word Grains 08/02 05:55 U.S. Crop Prices Lower Early Tuesday After Ratings Stay Stable December corn was down 9 cents, November soybeans were down 12 cents and September KC wheat was down 20 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading lower as tensions increase between Beijing and Washington D.C. According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. House Speaker is set to visit Taiwan on Tuesday and some Chinese officials have threatened military retaliation. According to CNBC.com, Tuesday's earnings reports include Caterpillar, Starbucks and Paypal. OPEC meets on Wednesday and a nonfarm payroll report is due out Friday morning. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 46.73 at 32,798.40 and the S&P 500 down 11.66 at 4,118.63 as the 10-Year Treasury yield fell to 2.61%, the lowest in over three months. Early Tuesday, September Dow Jones futures are trading down 188 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.42% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 2.26%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.09%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.86% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.52%. The September euro is down $0.0014 at $1.0274. The September U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.07 at 105.41. The September 30-year T-bond is up 19/32nds, while August gold is up $2.30 at $1,790.0 and September crude oil is down $0.46 at $93.43. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.0%, September soybeans were down 2.4%, September soybean meal was down 1.7% and September soybean oil was down 2.4%. September Malaysian palm oil is trading down 4.2%.
