Potential for a good spring wheat crop in Washington was also more apparent, as exporters pulled the club premium back to even money with soft white wheat. Crop Progress...Extreme heat hit the Pacific Northwest over the past week and as a whole, winter wheat conditions improved as the three-state index rose a point to 107% of average. Oregon posted a 3 point gain for good to excellent, setting at 67%, while Washington posted a 4% jump to 76%. Idaho slipped 3% to 67%. Winter wheat harvest continues to advance at a slightly slower pace than average with Oregon 36% cut, Idaho at 14% and Washington 10% complete. Spring wheat ratings for Washington held at an exceptional 97% good to excellent with Idaho at 63%. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a marked decline in the pace of U.S. wheat shipments last week, coming in at 9.4 mb to put year- to-date loadings 25% behind a year ago at 104 mb. Hard red spring posted 3.9 mb in shipments, soft white saw 1.7 mb and hard red winter 1.6 mb. Taiwan was the primary destination for wheat off the west coast, taking 1.5 mb and China took on 7.9 mb of corn. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2022 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
