DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/03 14:04 Rain, Chinese Retaliation Send Soybeans Lower a Third Day November soybeans closed down 16 3/4 cents Wednesday, pressured by rain in the seven-day forecast and also by noncommercial selling related to China's provocative military exercises near Taiwan's ports. Corn and spring wheat posted small gains, while crude oil fell lower after the Energy Department reported U.S. higher inventory for last week. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed up 1/4 cent and December corn was up 2 cents. August soybeans closed down 11 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 16 3/4 cents. September KC wheat closed down 6 3/4 cents, September Chicago wheat was down 11 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was up 2 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.26 at 106.36. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 465.49 points at 32,861.66. August gold is down $10.80 at $1,778.90, September silver is down $0.16 at $19.98 and September copper is down $0.0455. September crude oil is down $3.03 at $91.39, September heating oil is up $0.0437, September RBOB gasoline is down $0.1189 and September natural gas is up $0.576.
