DTN Closing Livestock Comment 08/04 16:16 Cash Cattle Rattles the Market Higher Heading into Friday's market, cattlemen are hoping to round out the week on the strong note to propel the market higher come Monday. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Even though the futures market closed lower for both live cattle and feeder cattle, the fact that cash cattle prices grew stronger was exactly what the market needed and wanted. Hog prices closed $3.45 lower on the Daily Direct Afternoon Hog Report, which equated to a weighted average of $127.19 on 13,055 head. December corn is up 10 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $22.60. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 85.68 points.
