DTN Early Word Grains 08/11 05:49 Grains, Oilseed Prices Show Modest Gains Early Thursday December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 7 cents and September KC wheat was up 5 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst PRE-6 a.m. GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 7 cents and September KC wheat was up 5 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading a little higher, still showing relief after the Labor Department reported consumer prices unchanged in July. Disney is trading higher after a positive earnings report. At 7:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, USDA's weekly export sales report, weekly U.S. jobless claims, producer prices for July and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor will all be released. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 535.10 at 33,309.51 and the S&P 500 up 87.77 at 4,210.24 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.79%, near the lowest in over three months. Early Thursday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 128 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.65% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.60%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.09%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.20% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.07%. The September euro is up $0.0028 at $1.0359. The September U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.26 at 104.82. The September 30-year T-bond is down 0nds, while August gold is down $8.60 at $1,805.10 and September crude oil is up $0.69 at $92.62. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.5%, September soybeans were down 0.0%, September soybean meal was up 0.4% and September soybean oil was up 0.3%. September Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.1%.
