DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/25 13:37 Soybeans, Soymeal, Wheat Futures Fall Hard in Corrective Action Soybean futures closed lower for the second straight day, pressured by the weak soybean meal market and ideas that both major soy producing states of Illinois and Iowa could see better-than-expected yields. The soy weakness comes even as China provided economic stimulus to its struggling economy and came in this week to buy 24 mb of U.S. soybeans. Corn was modestly lower for the day and wheat rejected early strength to end up closing sharply lower. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed down 8 1/4 cents per bushel and December corn was down 7 3/4 cents. September soybeans closed down 8 1/4 cents and November soybeans were down 27 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed down 29 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat was down 27 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was down 25 3/4 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.166 at 108.450. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 118.58 points at 33,087.81. December gold is up $8.20 at $1,769.70, September silver is up $0.18 at $19.09 and September copper is up $0.0520 at $3.6960. October crude oil is down $1.55 at $93.34, October heating oil is down $0.0363, October RBOB is up $0.0195 and September natural gas is up $0.023.
