DTN Early Word Grains 08/25 05:50 U.S. Crop Prices Mixed Ahead of Export Sales Report December corn was up 5 cents, November soybeans were down 3 cents and September KC wheat was down 2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 5 cents, November soybeans were down 3 cents and September KC wheat was down 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, U.S. stock futures on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading a little higher, along with stocks in Europe and Asia after investors were encouraged by an overnight report, showing a slight gain in second-quarter GDP for Germany, also staying up 1.8% from a year ago. USDA's weekly export sales report is due out at 7:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, along with weekly U.S. jobless claims, second-quarter U.S. GDP and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. According to CNBC.com, Thursday's earnings reports will include Dollar Tree, Dollar General and Gap. Another rate hike in September will be on everyone's minds Friday when Federal Chairman Jerome Powell speaks at an economic symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 59.64 at 32,969.23 and the S&P 500 up 12.04 at 4,140.77, even as the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.11%, the highest rate in over a month. Early Wednesday, September Dow Jones futures are trading up 96 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.58% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.97%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.72%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.52% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.51%. The September euro is up $0.0041 at $1.0020. The September U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.48 at 108.14. The September 30-year T-bond is up 9/32nds, while December gold is up $15.20 at $1,776.70 and October crude oil is up $0.27 at $95.16. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was down 0.2%, September soybeans were up 0.7%, January soybean meal was down 0.5% and January soybean oil was up 0.8%. November Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.3%.
