DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/29 14:05 Corn, Wheat Push Higher as September Soybeans Tumble December contracts of corn and all three U.S. wheats closed higher Monday with Chicago wheat boasting the largest percentage gain with a boost from managed fund short-covering. September soybeans fell 70 1/2 cents on light volume as demand disappeared two days ahead of the start of the delivery period. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed up 15 cents and December corn was up 18 3/4 cents. September soybeans closed down 70 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 23 1/2 cents. December KC wheat closed up 30 1/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 37 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 23 3/4 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.01 at 108.74. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 75.03 points at 32,208.37. December gold is up $0.50 at $1,750.30, December silver is down $0.19 at $18.56 and December copper is down $0.0880. October crude oil is up $4.07 at $97.13, October ultra-low sulfur diesel is down $0.0762, October RBOB gasoline is up $0.0356 and October natural gas is up $0.054.
