DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/30 13:54 Ahead of Delivery, Soybeans, Meal and Wheat Lead Complex Lower With first notice day for expiring September futures on Wednesday, it is expiring September that has collapsed nearly $1.30 from the Monday high to send soybean futures sharply lower, with September meal also falling hard. Soybeans have now closed lower for four of the past five trading days, as traders react to increasing yield potential. Corn and wheat are in a following mode, as it seems that weakening demand, and not supply, is now the focus. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed down 4 cents per bushel and December corn was down 5 3/4 cents. September soybeans closed down 21 3/4 cents and November soybeans were down 5 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed down 14 3/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was down 22 1/2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was down 14 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.090 at 108.700. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 358.61 points at 31,740.38. December gold is down $14.10 at $1,735.60, September silver is down $0.41 at $18.15 and September copper is down $0.0615 at $3.5505. October crude oil is down $5.37 at $91.64, October heating oil is down $0.0660, October RBOB is down $0.1827 and October natural gas is down $0.307.
