DTN Closing Grain Comments 08/31 13:47 Corn Ignores Falling Yield Assumptions, Dry Weather Forecast and Weakens The big story at least early Wednesday was the corn market, where despite an overall feeling of falling yield potential and a warm and mostly dry forecast ahead for finishing crops, futures were under pressure again. All three major ag markets were lower early, but wheat and soybean oil were able to recover and finish strong. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed down 6 cents per bushel and December corn was down 6 3/4 cents. September soybeans closed down 5 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 10 cents. December KC wheat closed up 14 3/4 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 11 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 8 1/2 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.164 at 108.585. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 157.28 points at 31,633.59. December gold is down $12.00 at $1,724.30, December silver is down $0.40 at $17.89 and December copper is down $0.0280 at $3.5230. October crude oil is down $1.97 at $89.67, October heating oil is down $0.1017, October RBOB is down $0.0936 and October natural gas is up $0.102.
