Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst PRE-6 a.m. GLOBEX PRICES: December corn is up 1 cent per bushel, November soybeans are down 10 cents, and December KC wheat is up 1/4 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Mostly higher equity trade overnight, which is especially surprising across Europe where the decision by Russia to halt natural gas flows is being taken in stride. Energy prices began trade Monday evening higher but have since turned lower with Brent crude oil prices off by almost 3% Tuesday morning. U.S. natural gas prices are also off more than 2% after trading to multi-year highs two weeks ago. The U.S. Dollar Index is firmer overnight but below the highs set last Thursday. The greenback should continue to be looked at as a safe haven given the economic malaise across Europe, especially if governments around the globe decide to keep fighting inflation by printing more money. Metals are mostly firmer overnight with copper and silver up and gold down. Grains are mixed overnight but well off the highs set Monday evening. Harvest is drawing closer, but headlines and energy prices are still big factors in day-to-day price action.
