DTN Early Word Grains 09/15 05:48 Crop Prices Mixed, Tentative Rail Agreement Reached December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, several news sources reported and the White House confirmed a tentative pact was reached between the rail companies and unions to avoid a midnight strike, a hopeful sign trouble has been averted. U.S. stock futures are slightly higher early Thursday with overnight markets mixed in Europe and Asia. Later Thursday morning, USDA is expected to update weekly export sales data through August 8. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 30.12 at 31,135.09 and the S&P 500 up 13.32 at 3,946.01 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.41%, near its highest yield in 11 years. Early Thursday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 54 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.21% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.16%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.56%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.20% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.22%. The December euro is up $0.0004 at $.9987. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.03 at 109.67. The December 30-year T-bond is down 17/32nds, while December gold is down $13.60 at $1,695.50 and October crude oil is down $0.03 at $88.45. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was down 0.1%, November soybeans were down 1.4%, January soybean meal was down 1.3% and January soybean oil was down 0.6%. November Malaysian palm oil is trading down 2.8%.
