DTN Early Word Grains 09/19 05:49 Grains Mostly Lower With Bearish Outside Market Concerns Early Monday December corn was down 3 cents, November soybeans were up 2 cents and December KC wheat was down 16 cents Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 3 cents, November soybeans were up 2 cents and December KC wheat was down 16 cents CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, stock futures in the U.S. are starting lower, in line with lower prices in Europe and Asia and are having bearish influence on commodity prices. On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve starts its two-day meeting at which another rate hike is expected on Wednesday. Overnight, the People's Bank of China cut a short-term rate from 2.25% to 2.15%. According to CNBC.com, earnings reports are expected from Costco and General Mills this week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 139.40 at 30,822.42 and the S&P 500 down 28.02 at 3,873.33 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.45%, near its highest yield in 11 years. Early Monday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 300 points, an early sign of more risk-off selling. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.11% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.35%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.02%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.49% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 1.23%. The December euro is down $0.0029 at $.9975. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.33 at 110.07. The December 30-year T-bond is down 18/32nds, while December gold is down $13.00 at $1,670.50 and October crude oil is down $1.21 at $83.90. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.2%, November soybeans were up 0.1%, January soybean meal was up 0.1% and January soybean oil was up 0.2%. November Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.6%.
