Bid structures also show white wheat in an inverse, while hard red winter is flat and dark northern spring shows a modest carry. Crop Progress...Winter wheat plantings started in earnest across the Pacific Northwest over the past week, as all three states are planting near the average pace. Idaho reports 31% planted, Washington is at 45% and Oregon 14% complete. The first report on emergence shows the crops are off to a slower start, in need of additional precipitation. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed yet another big week for movement of wheat off U.S. ports, coming in at 29 mb to put year-to-date shipments 7% behind a year ago at 265 mb. White wheat loadings off the west coast were the largest in several years, coming in at 10 mb. Among the list of destinations were China, Yemen, Indonesia and Japan. Another big mover was hard red winter with 10.8 mb, soft red winter registered a total of 6.1 mb and hard red spring recorded 2.1 mb. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2022 DTN/Telvent.
