DTN Early Word Grains 09/26 05:49 Outside Market Concerns Continue, Crop Prices Lower Early Monday December corn was down 5 cents, November soybeans were down 5 cents and December KC wheat was down 7 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 5 cents, November soybeans were down 5 cents and December KC wheat was down 7 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, stock futures in the U.S. are starting lower, in spite of slightly higher prices in Europe. Traders remain focused on last week's central bank moves toward higher interest rates and are rattled by Friday's widespread selling. No major economic reports are due out Monday, but traders will be watching for comments from various Fed officials, set to speak this week. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 486.27 at 29,590.41 and the S&P 500 down 64.76 at 3,693.23 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.70%, near its highest yield in 11 years. Early Monday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 220 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 2.66% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.20%. European markets are slightly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.07%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.37% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.30%. The December euro is up $0.0012 at $.9744. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.53 at 113.72. The December 30-year T-bond is down 1 2/32nds, while December gold is down $1.90 at $1,653.70 and November crude oil is down $0.17 at $78.57. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was down 1.2%, November soybeans were down 1.5%, January soybean meal was down 1.0% and January soybean oil was down 2.9%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading down 5.5%.
