DTN Early Word Grains 09/27 05:50 Crop Prices Higher Early Tuesday as U.S. Dollar Relaxes December corn was up 3 cents, November soybeans were up 11 cents and December KC wheat was up 10 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 3 cents, November soybeans were up 11 cents and December KC wheat was up 10 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, stock futures in the U.S. are starting higher with stocks in Asia and Europe also higher. Several Fed officials are scheduled to speak Tuesday and the general theme seems to be that it is better for the Fed to take a hawkish stand now rather than let inflation linger. Reports later Tuesday will include U.S. durable goods, new home sales and a U.S. index of consumer confidence. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed more bearish concerns about the economy and rising U.S. dollar. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 329.60 at 29,260.81 and the S&P 500 down 38.19 at 3,655.04, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.88%, the highest yield in 12 years. Early Tuesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 202 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.53% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.40%. European markets are a little higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.09%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.27% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.50%. The December euro is up $0.0016 at $.9686. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.39 at 113.64. The December 30-year T-bond is up 12/32nds, while December gold is up $9.60 at $1,643.0 and November crude oil is up $1.31 at $78.02. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was down 0.8%, November soybeans were down 0.4%, January soybean meal was up 0.3% and January soybean oil was down 0.7%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.0%.
