DTN Early Word Grains 10/05 09:31 Crop Prices Starting Lower as Interest Rate Concerns Return December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were down 9 cents and December KC wheat was down 4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were down 9 cents and December KC wheat was down 4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting lower, in line with European stocks and Treasuries after a two-day reprieve from interest rate worries. The U.S. Commerce will report on the August trade deficit at 7:30 a.m. CDT Wednesday and provide USDA with more specific information about ag exports. At 9:30 a.m., the Energy Department will release its weekly inventory data, including ethanol production. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 825.43 at 30,316.32 and the S&P 500 up 112.50 at 3,790.93, while the 10-Year Treasury yield fell to 3.62%, down from the highest yield in 12 years. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 280 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.48%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 1.13%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.73% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.67%. The December euro is down $0.0053 at $1.0. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.54 at 110.53. The December 30-year T-bond is down 1 6/32nds, while December gold is down $7.40 at $1,723.10 and November crude oil is down $0.51 at $86.01. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 2.2%. There are no quotes from China's Dalian exchange or stock market this week due to a national holiday.
