DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/11 13:49 Wheat Relinquishes More than Half of Monday's Gains; Corn Falters Ahead of October Report There was not a lot of news impacting markets Tuesday, but all three wheat markets saw some profit-taking following Monday's sharp rise in wheat prices. Corn and soybeans moved in opposite directions, with corn slightly lower, and soybeans just barely finishing higher. The latter moves run counter to expectations of reduced corn ending stocks and increased soy ending stocks expected on the October WASDE report. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 5 1/4 cents per bushel, with March down 4 1/2 cents. November soybeans closed up 2 1/4 cents, with January also up 2 1/4. December KC wheat finished down 33 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat closed down 37 cents and December Minneapolis wheat is down 29 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 344.84 points and November crude oil is down $2.00 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.430 and December gold is up $10.30 per ounce.
