DTN Early Word Grains 10/12 05:50 Crop Prices Lower Ahead of USDA Report, Southern Rain Chance December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were down 3 cents and December KC wheat was down 5 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were down 3 cents and December KC wheat was down 5 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting a little higher, similar to markets in Europe with the U.S. Labor Department expected to show a 0.2% increase in U.S. producer prices for September at 7:30 a.m. CDT Wednesday. USDA will release its WASDE and Crop Production reports at 11 a.m. with many expecting USDA to lower ending stocks of corn and wheat and raise ending stocks of soybeans. A third-quarter earnings report from PepsiCo is also due out Wednesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 36.31 at 29,239.19 and the S&P 500 down 23.55 at 3,588.84, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.94%, close to the highest yield in 12 years. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 132 points. Asian markets are mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.02% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.53%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 steady, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.16% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.14%. The December euro is down $0.0001 at $.9756. The December U.S. Dollar Index is unchanged at 113.13. The December 30-year T-bond is up 3/32nds, while December gold is down $8.70 at $1,677.30 and November crude oil is down $0.05 at $89.30. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.2%, November soybeans were up 1.8%, January soybean meal was down 0.4% and January soybean oil was up 1.2%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.1%.
