DTN Early Word Grains 10/14 05:51 Crop Prices Quietly Mixed Early Friday, Export Sales Ahead December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were up 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 1 cent. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were up 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 1 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting a little higher, also seeing higher trading in Europe and Asia catching up to Thursday's big 828-point gain on the Dow. On Friday, several major banks will report third-quarter earnings. USDA's weekly export sales report is due out at 7:30 a.m. CDT Friday morning, the same time as a report on U.S. retail sales for September, followed by the University of Michigan's early consumer sentiment index for October at 9 a.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 827.87 at 30,038.72 and the S&P 500 up 92.88 at 3,669.91, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.95%, near the highest yield in 12 years. Early Friday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 134 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 3.25% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.84%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.93%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.58% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.86%. The December euro is down $0.0037 at $.9798. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.41 at 112.67. The December 30-year T-bond is up 16/32nds, while December gold is down $10.20 at $1,666.80 and November crude oil is down $0.53 at $88.58. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.5%, November soybeans were up 0.0%, January soybean meal was up 0.9% and January soybean oil was up 0.3%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 4.6%.
