DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/17 13:50 Corn Lower, Soybean Oil Higher in Mixed Day For Grains December corn closed down 6 1/4 cents, pressured by ongoing problems with barge traffic on the Mississippi River, while December soybean oil got a boost from Monday's crush report from the National Oilseeds Processors Association (NOPA) and finished up 1.54 cents. The three wheats were mixed despite not much rain in this week's forecast. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 6 1/4 cents and July corn was down 5 1/2 cents. November soybeans closed up 1 1/2 cents and July soybeans were down 3 cents. December KC wheat closed down 1/4 cent, December Chicago wheat was up 1 1/4 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 1 cent. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 1.26 at 111.94. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 559.60 points at 30,194.43. December gold is up $8.60 at $1,657.50, December silver is up $0.51 at $18.58 and December copper is down $0.0205. November crude oil is down $0.24 at $85.37, November ultra-low sulfur diesel is up $0.0990, November RBOB gasoline is down $0.0486 and November natural gas is down $0.439.
