DTN Early Word Grains 10/17 05:48 Row Crop Prices a Little Lower, Wheat Higher Early Monday December corn was down 1 cent, November soybeans were down 2 cents and December KC wheat was up 13 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 1 cent, November soybeans were down 2 cents and December KC wheat was up 13 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting higher with the December U.S. dollar futures lower, erratic trade following Thursday's bullish reversal and show of support for prices that had been beat down to their lowest level in two years. China's Communist Party meets this week and is expected to grant Xi Jinping another term as head of the Party and of China. Russia continues its attacks on Kyiv and eastern Ukraine and the U.S. continues to deal with restricted barge traffic along the Mississippi River. USDA's weekly export inspections report is due out at 10 a.m. CDT. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 403.89 at 29,634.83 and the S&P 500 down 86.84 at 3,583.07, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 4.01%, near the highest yield in 12 years. Early Monday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 308 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.16% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.42%. European markets are a little higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.07%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.07% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.32%. The December euro is up $0.0013 at $.9783. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.27 at 112.94. The December 30-year T-bond is up 18/32nds, while December gold is up $11.50 at $1,660.40 and November crude oil is up $0.08 at $85.69. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.1%, November soybeans were down 0.7%, January soybean meal was down 0.3% and January soybean oil was down 0.4%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.1%.
