DTN Early Word Grains 10/18 05:49 Row Crop Prices Start Lower Tuesday as Harvest Moves Along December corn was down 5 cents, November soybeans were down 4 cents and December KC wheat was down 5 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 5 cents, November soybeans were down 4 cents and December KC wheat was down 5 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting higher, encouraged by higher trading in Europe and Japan and coming on the heels of positive market responses to Monday's earnings reports from Bank of America and Bank of New York Mellon. According to CNBC.com, Tuesday's earnings reports include Goldman Sachs, Netflix, United Airlines and Johnson & Johnson. The Federal Reserve will report on U.S. industrial production at 8:15 a.m. CDT Tuesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 550.99 at 30,185.82 and the S&P 500 up 94.88 at 3,677.95, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 4.015%, near the highest yield in 12 years. Early Tuesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 330 points. Asian markets are mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.42% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.13%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.90%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.24% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.79%. The December euro is down $0.0014 at $.9880. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.17 at 112.08. The December 30-year T-bond is down 4/32nds, while December gold is down $7.30 at $1,656.70 and November crude oil is down $0.36 at $85.10. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was down 0.3%, November soybeans were down 1.3%, January soybean meal was down 1.9% and January soybean oil was down 0.0%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.4%.
