Dow Jones reported this week that Brazilian ports have been building fertilizer stocks in their warehouses in recent months, pointing to lower domestic demand and buyers moving up their fertilizer purchases during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Dow Jones said total fertilizer imports to Brazil increased by about 3.8% to 27.9 million metric tons in the nine months through September compared to the same period last year, citing a report from Itau BBA. Dow Jones said China was the largest fertilizer supplier to Brazil in September, while Russia was the largest during the first nine months of 2022.
