DTN Early Word Grains 10/19 05:48 Wheat Turns Higher, Row Crops Lower Early Wednesday December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were down 7 cents and December KC wheat was up 9 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 2 cents, November soybeans were down 7 cents and December KC wheat was up 9 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting a little higher, in spite of lower trade in Europe, while December U.S. T-bonds are making new lows. Early earnings reports have been mostly favorable and CNBC.com says Wednesday's reports will include IBM and Tesla. At 7:30 a.m. CDT, a report on September housing starts is due out, followed by the Energy Department's weekly inventory report at 9:30 a.m., which includes ethanol production. The Fed's Beige Book will be released at 1 p.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 337.98 at 30,523.80 and the S&P 500 up 42.03 at 3,719.98, while the 10-Year Treasury yield eased to 4.00%, still near the highest yield in 12 years. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 35 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.37% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.19%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.53%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.43% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.01%. The December euro is down $0.0027 at $.9868. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.29 at 112.29. The December 30-year T-bond is down 27/32nds, while December gold is down $9.20 at $1,646.60 and November crude oil is up $0.37 at $83.19. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.1%, November soybeans were down 1.3%, January soybean meal was down 1.0% and January soybean oil was up 0.8%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.4%.
