DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/20 13:49 Soybeans, Meal Lead Ag Markets Higher on Strong Exports, New Sales Soybeans got a boost from huge export sales for the week ending Oct. 13. In addition to that, shipments last week were far above the average weekly needed, and new export sales to China and unknown, totaling 12.2 mb were announced. Corn and wheat participated in the rally despite still dismal export sales and shipments. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed up 5 3/4 cents per bushel and March corn was up 5 1/2 cents. November soybeans closed up 19 cents and January soybeans were up 17 1/4 cents. December KC wheat closed up 8 cents, December Chicago wheat was up 8 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was up 10 1/4 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.006 at 112.885. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 136.98 points at 30,286.83. December gold is down $1.20 at $1,633.00, December silver is up $0.22 at $18.58 and December copper is up $0.0750 at $3.3930. December crude oil is up $0.02 at $84.54, December heating oil is down $0.0750, December RBOB is down $0.0137 and November natural gas is down $0.103.
