DTN Closing Grain Comments 10/27 13:43 Wheat Markets Rally on Argentine News But Can't Hold; Beans, Meal Finish Higher Grain and soy markets rebuffed early gains to slide lower, but beans ended up modestly higher. Wheat futures led the early morning move higher on another decline in Argentine wheat production, but were unable to maintain strength into the close, as rains are moving into the western Plains. Corn fell again on another week of dismal sales but remained in the sideways pattern that has been in place since early September. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: December corn closed down 2 3/4 cents per bushel and March corn was down 2 3/4 cents. November soybeans closed up 1/2 cent and January soybeans were also up 1/2 cent. December KC wheat closed down 8 1/2 cents, December Chicago wheat was down 2 cents and December Minneapolis wheat was down 1 3/4 cents. The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.843 at 110.395. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 302.85 points at 32,141.96. December gold is down $5.50 at $1,663.70, December silver is down $0.05 at $19.44 and December copper is down $0.0245 at $3.5205. December crude oil is up $1.31 at $89.22, December heating oil is up $0.0416, December RBOB is up $0.0692 and December natural gas is down $0.234.
